We believe there are 2 sides to the fitness coin; Movement and Strength. First we must move in a manner that allows access to an adequete range of motion. We must be able to get in and out of certain positions without aids or assistance. If there are restrictions in the movement system, we must get them to a level that allows for acceptable movement patterns or improve them as much as possible to free up the body to pursue new levels of strength.
Then there is the second part of the equation: Strength. To make sure those newly obtained movement patterns and ranges of motion stay we must reenforce them with strength. Beyond that, all people should have a certain level of strength so that tasks in our daily lives don’t impose risks to our health. Strength builds a sort of armor around the body, and allows us to go through life without worry that we aren’t up to a given task.
